The new release of the wp rss image wordpress plugin allows to include the “Featured Image” of your post as thumbnail into your blog feed. If you don’t assign a thumbnail to the post the plugin takes the first image uploaded to the post gallery.
This version also avoid the extra http request to determinate the size of the images, reducing the loading time. Also is important to use any cache plugin to improve your site response.

Amazing!! Exactly what I was trying to figure out.
But now I have one problem left. How do you pull the image from the feed to display?
I have 5 blogs but on one of my blogs I want to be able to display the other blogs RSS feeds with their Featured Images beside their recent post headings.
It would be so cool if you could make another plugin that would now be able to receive the feed with the featured image beside the post headings.
2 plugins that I would pay for in a heart beat! Seriously.
