The wordpress plugin WP RSS Images was updating to include the media extension. Now you can include images to the rss using enclosure and media tag.
The new release of the wp rss image wordpress plugin allows to include the “Featured Image” of your post as thumbnail into your blog feed. If you don’t assign a thumbnail to the post the plugin takes the first image uploaded to the post gallery.
This version also avoid the extra http request to determinate the size of the images, reducing the loading time. Also is important to use any cache plugin to improve your site response.
The plugin is available here:
WordPress plugin that allows to use the “Feature/Thumbnail Image” or the first attached image of your post/page into your blog RSS.
1. Upload ‘wp rss image’ folder to the `/wp-content/plugins/` directory.
2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
3. Go to Settings/WP RSS Image and select the image size (Thumbnail, Medium, Full) and the feed (rss, rss2).
The plugin is quite simple to use and can be implemented for very different purposes. Just think about it and post your experience and contribution. But if this plugin saves your day you can let me know by clicking on the orange bell.
